Assessing the Situation

Chris, our residential roofing representative, had a look over the old roofs. He notice that both the house roof and garage roof were severely deteriorated. In fact, both roofs had begun leaking.

The home roof had two layers of asphalt shingles. Beneath these layers was another layer of slate roofing. The old roof was well past its prime. Chris decided that it was time to replace everything on both the house and garage.

Replacing Home and Garage Roof

We began our day and a half of work by removing all three layers of the old roofing system. Removing three layers, especially one being slate, was a heavy task. The team set up tarps and other equipment to protect the house and grounds. This also aids in cleanup of the materials.

Then we installied the new IKO “Cambridge” Dimensional Shingle roofing system. This shingle gave the residence a big boost in curb appeal. The Cambridge roofing system also comes with a 30-year manufacturer warranty.

As with all our roofing systems, we start with the underlayment and iceguard. The felt underlayment protects keeps the shingles from adhering to the roof deck . Asphalt iceguard protects against leakage caused by ice dams during our long Cleveland winters. The garage roof was replaced with the same 30-year shingle.
