ODOT Service Garage

The original gutters were not strong enough to withstand the heavy Geauga County snow loads. New heavy gauge steel flangeback gutters were shop fabricated and installed.

1

An ODOT garage in the snowbelt area had aluminum gutters that were being destroyed by snow and ice slides.

2

A section of the gutter that had been battered by sliding snow and ice during the winter.

3

Aluminum is a soft metal that fasteners will pull out of when hit hard enough.

4

The new flat back gutters were fabricated in our sheet metal shop out of 24 gauge steel.

5

The flange of the new gutter is fastened under the roof panels.

6

Along the back of the garage ladders and picks were used to stand on while installing the new gutters.

7

Even though the new gutters are stronger than the old gutters, it was recommended that snowrails be installed on the roof.
