This project invovled tearing
off the flat roof and installing
a modified bitumen roofing
system.
The project also invovled
tearing-off the chapel shingled
roof and installing new shingles.
The driveway could not be
blocked so job siting was
done early in the mourning.
The tapered insulation board
is lighweight and could be
lifted four bundles at a time.
The tapered board will be
used to form the drainway
crickets.
Roofing asphalt comes in
"Plugs" that weigh 100 pounds.
The west roof section had
standing water that needed
to be eliminated.
The wood nailer under the
gutter needed to be replaced.
To eliminate the standing water tapered board sections
were installed on the roof.
The new roof slope can be
seen along the right wall.
The slate roof above the west
roof had a two foot overhang.
Racoons made nests under
the overhang.
The overhang was enclosed
with wood. The wall was then
covered with metal.
A new copper flat back gutter
was fabricated and installed
for the roof.
On the main roof two base plies were set in a mopping of hot asphalt over the board.
On the chapel roof the under-
layment was installed for the
new shingles.
New shingles are being
installed on the chapel roof.
The chapel drainway was
lined with granular surfaced
modified bitumen membrane.
To create positive drainage
between the drains crickets
were installed.
